What's in a name? For many of us, our names are an important part of our identity. They can be a source of pride or embarrassment, and they can influence the way we are perceived by others.
Now, there's a new tool that claims to be able to rate your name – and it's based on artificial intelligence (AI).
The tool, called NameCheck, is a service that allows users to input a name and receive a score out of 10. The score is based on factors such as the name's popularity, pronounceability, and similarity to other names.
NameCheck was developed by a team of researchers from the University of Pennsylvania and the marketing firm Dstillery. The team used a dataset of more than four million names to train the AI system.
So far, the tool has been used mostly for fun. But the team behind it believes it could have some practical applications, such as helping parents choose names for their children or helping businesses choose names for their products.
